Avalanche Creek

Avalanche Creek is an extremely rugged and
beautiful trail in the Maroon-Snowmass wilderness. We trailer the horses to the Avalanche trail- head, near the Town of Redstone, and ride for the day. The trail winds up Avalanche Creek, through large aspen groves, and up steep rocky trails. The small wooden bridge that crosses "Hell Roaring Creek" is always a highlight of the ride. We stop for lunch, overlooking Avalanche Creek and return after a wonderful day of riding, conversation, lunch, and the sensibility of the high country in our hearts.
