Aaron Ralston was born and raised on his family’s ranch in
Western Colorado. Horses have influenced his life from his
early
rodeo career to his accomplishments in reining and working cow horse
competitions all over the world. Aaron was the 2004 AQHA Sr.
Reining Reserve World Champion. In 2006, he was part of Team USA at the
World Equestrian Games, held in Aachen, Germany. Riding Smart Paul
Olena, Aaron led the United States to a Team Gold Medal. He took the
Bronze medal in the Individual Reining Competition.
Aaron is also the host of “The Ride,” a weekly show
on RFD
TV. Each week, “The Ride” television
series will take
you on a journey traveling to acclaimed ranches in this country and
around the world. Each weekly episode provides a glimpse into
the
life of today’s modern working ranch cowboy. Aaron
collaborates
with highly regarded experts in their fields, who share secrets of true
horsemanship. From working cattle to perfecting turnarounds,

SCOTT
AMOS 2 DAY CUTTING CLINIC
July 13th & 14th, 2011

Day
1 - Day
one of the clinic will consist of digging into the foundation of you
and your horses' training through understanding the correct body
movement, and foot placement of your horse. You will learn
how to
apply your legs and hands to help position your horses body. The day
will begin with executing proper horsemanship skills and end with being
able to dry work your horse with
confidence.
Day 2
- We
will take the fundamentals of dry work you learned the previous day and
apply it to working a cow. You will gain a better understanding
of where you and your horse need to be to control a cow
throughout
a run. Knowing your position on a cow and how to recover when
you
get out of position is key to marking a good score.
This clinic will improve your understanding and skills for cutting.
There will be flag work as well as cattle work.
$175.00/person/day (plus $15.00/day cattle charge) 50% to hold your spot.
10 participants only (this will allow for individual help), first come
first serve.

The word "limitations"
has never been in the vocabulary of Scott
Amos. Even after losing the lower portion of his left leg in
a
tractor accident at just 6 years old, he has gone on to fulfill his
dreams of becoming an accomplished horseman.
From playing football and baseball to roping and
riding saddle broncs, Scott has always had a competitive streak.
At 15, Scott won the All Around Cowboy title in
Junior
Rodeo and was later nationally recognized for superior academics and
community involvement.
Following several apprenticeships with many
renowned
horse trainers, Scott began his own training operation in the early
90's. That program has now blossomed into not only a
successful
program for Scott and his horses, but also for numerous amateur riders.
Scott and his wife, Rebecca, have three children
and reside in Loma, Colorado.

Each morning 9 a.m. - 12 noon - The Agility Course
These classes provide an opportunity for riders to train their horses
with 14 obstacles that require mobility, and obedience in many
forms. We slow down and step out of our habitual ways of riding,
and in doing this we are able to break down a task so that we become
comfortable exploring and developing a creative process in training our
horses. Approaching training with this level of awareness builds
trust and confidence in ourselves and our horses.
Every afternoon 1.30 - 4.30 p.m. Cattle Work
In the afternoon we will be training horses and riders with cattle.
Working with all levels of experience we will focus on the simplest and
kindest way to introduce people and horses to cows. We will be
practicing working as a team to separate a cow.
